Pee Wees take stage in AYO Showcase

The 2009 Gridiron Elite Super Bowl Champions  take on the Rockaway Ravens in the first ever AYO Officials showcase.

“We have invited many coaches from high schools all over the city to come watch the stars of tomorrow” said Justice Johnson, President of the AYO officials, and the PSAL Assigning Referee. Mr. Johnson is responsible for assigning all of the officials for all citywide high school games, and in three youth leagues, including the Gridiron Elite.

The Rebels have a new look backfield, and experience at the Quarterback position, as Shaun Tafe returns to lead the Rebels in 2010.

The game will take place @ Jamaica High School @ noon.

Rebels Football opens camp officially Saturday July 17th @ 10am !

Practice schedule:

Jr. Pee Wees (Age 10 & Under) – Thursdays 6:30pm – 8:00pm,  Saturdays & Sundays 10:00am – Noon.

Pee Wees (Age 11  – 13) – Tuesdays & Thursdays 6:30pm – 8:30 pm, Saturdays 10:00am – 1:30pm.

Intermediates (Age 14 – 16) – Tuesdays & Thursdays 6:30pm – 8:30 pm, Saturdays 10:00am – 1:30pm.

Rebels’ Mini Camp a success! Next camp begins June 15th for all teams

For those who know the Rebels’ program, we practice for success in three stages, the first of which has just been completed. Our next mini camp for all teams will begin Tuesday June 15th  – Jr Pee Wees, Pee Wees, Intermediates, Super Prep, and the NorthEast Elite College Club Team.

At the end of the second mini-camp, those players that are seeking to remain on our active rosters for 2010, must have their fees paid in full in order to have the uniform number and size of their choice.  In addition – helmet costs will increase, and time is drawing near when helmets will not be able to be ordered. Those that wish for their CURRENT helmets to be recertified, painted and “Rebel Winged” must submit their helmet to Coach Blake no later than the end of the June mini camp, AND HAVE THE COST OF THE RECERTIFICATION – $25.00- IN HAND. Those needing to place helmet orders for new helmets have until the end of the July mini-camp. THERE WILL BE NO NEW ORDERS PLACED FOR HELMETS IN AUGUST, NO MATTER WHAT.

In addition, all levels – all paperwork should be completed and signed by the end of the June mini camp as well. There will be no excuses for this, and players can be cut if the paperwork is not completed.

PRACTICE RESUMES FOR ALL TEAMS TODAY MAY 20

PEE WEE REBELS TO DEFEND THE CROWN WITH NEW HC AT THE HELM

Coach Rob Churchill now takes the reigns from  Coach Mike Blake as only the third Pee Wee Coach in Rebel history.

As Coach Blake was moved to Operations, now Churchill, an assistant Offensive Line coach with both Rebel Intermediate Champs of 2008 and Pee Wee Champs of 2009, now takes over as HC of the Pee Wee division.

After a good spring campaign, where the Rebel Pee Wees were dominant over both the Pee Wee Co-Op City Cowboys, and the Pee Wee Brooklyn Wolfpack in a round robin scrimmage, the focus now shifts to defending the championship.

We will catch up with Coach Churchill at a future date for an in depth interview.

PRACTICE FOR ALL LEVELS CANCELLED TODAY, MAY 18TH

Pee Wees and Intros Prepare for Spring Season

The Pee Wee and Intro Rebels are practicing hard to compete in the 1st Gridiron  Elite Spring Football season, starting April 17th.  The Staten Island Bandits, Brooklyn Wolfpack, Bronx Kings are among the competition this spring. Practice is Tuesday, Thursday evenings @ 7 and Saturday mornings @ 10am. Come out to claim your spot!! Championship Bound – Believe That!!

Practice for Tues 3/23 is cancelled

Pee Wees and Intros will resume practice Thursday night @ 7:00 pm

Super Prep Div will practice with the Intros until the Elite All Star games are completed, unless you have been chosen to play with the Elite.  See Coach Ray for clarification.

NorthEast Elite will practice be Wednesday night @ 7:30 – in full gear!!
